Moon Gallery & Studio is a multi-functional artist space and gallery in east Austin offering intimate classes and influential support for creatives.
Two creative women who love art and the moon.
Adrienne Hodge & Lauren Tarbel.
These ladies met in art school at UT about ten years ago one fateful day when they worked in the ceramics lab together on respective projects. Their paths crossed again nearly two years ago as neighbors and moms of small children, and they've been working and dreaming together ever since.
More About Adrienne:
Adrienne Hodge is an Austin based artist whose work combines both contemporary and vintage drawing and calligraphy inks through a process of drawn and painted layers. And sometimes she oil paints. Among her strongest influences, she cites particle physics, psychology, neuroscience and turn of the century astronomical photography. Adrienne has been teaching art and art appreciation to people ages 5 to 75 for nearly a decade.
More about Lauren:
Lauren is an oil painter and photographer. Her mission as a painter is to transport herself and the observer. She paints to dream. Themes from nature, an exploration of symbolism and use of vivid colors are characteristics of her work. Her mission as a photographer is to bring professional, sensitive, thought-provoking and creative images to her clients and the world.
“The moon does not fight. It attacks no one. It does not worry. It does not try to crush others. It keeps to its course, but by its very nature, it gently influences. What other body could pull an entire ocean from shore to shore? The moon is faithful to its nature and its power is never diminished.”
